2022 Instagram Engagement Groups: Telegram Pods and Powerlikes

The long follow-unfollow days have been over for a while now, along with another very ineffective strategy to try to get more engagement- using all 30 hashtags in your post description asking for likes.

If you know someone that still uses #like4like or #followback, please tell them that they are stuck in 2017 (in a friendly way, because we do not support bullying of any kind!). Not only is this technique dated and unsuccessful, but it’s also making you waste precious time and energy that could be used to create more amazing content or further develop your business.

2017 is, indeed, the date that Telegram Engagement Groups started gaining notoriety. Imagine a big group of people that have one thing in common: they want to receive likes and comments from other users, and they’re willing to reciprocate that engagement from their own account. Free likes for likes. That’s Telegram Engagement Groups in a nutshell.

But what if you could also get extra engagement from other real Instagram users without the manual labor of giving tons of likes and comments to strangers and spamming your own account in the process? Yes, that’s possible with Powerlikes!

If you clicked on this article, chances are you are looking for more engagement on your Instagram page and you’re browsing for a solution other than a dozen of thirsty hashtags (good for you!). Not sure what’s the best option for your account? Let’s get into it!

What is Telegram?

Launched by Russian entrepreneur Pavel Durov back in 2013, Telegram is a free cloud-based chat app with the option for end-to-end encryption, where you can send messages, photos, videos, and other files of any type (doc, zip, mp3, etc.). You can use Telegram to send messages to just a few people or become a part of group chats of up to 200,000 members.

As a messaging app, Telegram is pretty amazing. Messages sent through the app can be heavily encrypted and delivered quicker than in other apps. You can use it on all your devices at the same time and Telegram puts no limits on the size of your media and chats! No wonder it has over 500 million users and is one of the 10 most downloaded apps in the world.

However, we’re here today to talk about how you can use Telegram for extra Instagram engagement through Telegram Groups.

Telegram Engagement Groups

On Telegram, there are countless group chats, both public and private, available for you to join. When you first start using the app, you might actually be a bit overwhelmed with how many Groups and Channels you can join. Here’s a giant list of US Telegram groups and channels in case you want to take a look.

Channels are group chats that allow an unlimited number of users, in which participants can’t see other members and there isn’t a lot of communication between users. They are essentially used to broadcast messages to large audiences.

Groups are more personal and exclusive, allowing only up to 200,000 members. The biggest groups are called supergroups. Unlike Channels, Telegram Groups show you a list of the group members and let you interact with them.

Telegram groups usually have a theme and let you keep up with a topic you’re interested in - like fitness or traveling- and connect you with like-minded people.

However, the Telegram Groups we are referring to in this article - also known as Telegram Pods, Instagram Engagement Groups, Instagram Engagement Pods, Instagram Pods, etc. (you get the drill) -  are groups within the Telegram app that aim to connect their users to exchange likes and comments on Instagram. Essentially, Instagram users come together in these groups to help each other get more engagement on Instagram.

How Do I Get IG Engagement from a Telegram Pod?

As mentioned above, you have to give engagement in order to get it back from other members of the group. There are plenty of great articles on how to find groups on Telegram, like this one.

After you’ve been invited or joined one of these groups, the group rules are usually pinned at the top of the chat. If you click on it, you’ll see a detailed explanation of how the group works and which rules you’ll have to follow. In general, it’ll be something like this:

Here’s what all of that means:

  1. Once you open the group chat, you’ll have to scroll all the way down and start liking posts from the bottom up. In this case, you have to like and comment on the last 10 posts sent to the chat before you can get engagement on your post.

  2. When you’re done liking/commenting on the last 10 links sent on the chat, make sure that no one else dropped another link in the meantime. If they did, you’ll have to like those too, even if it means that you end up liking more than 10 posts. In very active groups, this means you’ll have to be really quick when giving engagement to other members, otherwise you’ll end up having to like/comment on way more posts than you were initially counting on.

  3. Once you’re done liking the 10 most recent links on the chat, you can drop your own link to your post (usually your most recent post) and confirm the number of posts that you’ve liked- that’s what Dx10 means.

  4. There is no daily limit to how many times you can drop your link to get engagement from other members. Just remember that you have to like 10 more posts each time you want to drop your own link.

  5. Your post that you want to see boosted must be from the same account that you are using to like other members’ posts.

  6. (Guess they skipped this one, oops!)

  7. You will be banned if you request engagement for a post that contains violence, hate, and/or nudity.

  8. Your Instagram profile must be public in order to give and receive engagement within the group.

  9. If you don't comply with the rules above, you will get a warning from the group bots. Don’t try to cheat this system because all of these engagement pods have bots that control users’ behavior and will know if you didn’t follow the rules. Bots can also ban you from the group, usually after 3 violations of the rules.

Yes, it’s a bit complicated and overwhelming at first, and it will take some time to get used to. Even when you’re in the habit of doing it, following all these steps can really shorten your day. So ask yourself if all this work is really worth those 10 extra likes.

Is Telegram safe?

Telegram is famous for valuing its users' privacy and offers the option of end-to-end encryption “secret chats”. On that level, yes, it is absolutely safe to use, even more so than other popular messaging apps.

However, using Telegram to get Instagram engagement is a different story. When joining these groups and using your own profile to give engagement to tons of strangers, you need to take into consideration that that might affect your account in the long term.

Firstly, engagement coming from those groups is often generic, impersonal, and easy to tell that it’s “fake”. Also, the more likes/comments you decide to give to accounts you don’t even follow, the higher the chance of Instagram flagging that as spam and blocking or permanently banning your account. Exchanging fake engagement is against the platform’s regulations and will likely lead to this if you do it often or in a high quantity.

In terms of privacy, Telegram engagement groups also have room to improve. Group owners/admins can see you’re using their pods for extra engagement, and so can the other users in the same groups as you. Considering that Telegram groups can have up to 200.000 people, that’s 200.000 people that know you have fake engagement on your Instagram page, and that might take its toll on your brand if you have sponsors or if word gets to your clients that you don't have legitimate connections on your profile.

More so, group members can contact you at any time through the app or on Instagram. By becoming a part of these massive engagement groups, keep in mind that you might be exposing yourself and your brand to this.

That being said, participating in these groups should be safe enough if you don’t overdo it and keep a low profile.

What are Powerlikes?

Instagram Powerlikes are likes from real Instagram users with good engagement and a high following on their pages.

Powerlikes are usually a subscription-based service that you’ll have to sign up to. After signing up, you gain access to a network of real users that have good quality pages, as mentioned above. These likes and comments will look good on your page and will help your content rank higher on hashtag pages or even get to the Explore Page.

Unlike the manual labor on Telegram Pods, Powerlikes start appearing automatically on your post almost as soon as you publish it, and do not require your password or anything from your own account.

Instagram Pods or Powerlikes?

Depending on your budget and needs, both options are viable to give you that extra engagement you were looking for.

Telegram is a free way of receiving more likes and comments from other real Instagram users, which is a big plus. You can (and should) join groups related to your niche/interests, which might also lead to genuine connections with those like-minded users.

However, if you’re asking for this engagement on a business account, keep in mind that it is very easy to link you to these Telegram groups and prove that some of your brand’s networking isn’t genuine. Plus, it can also be a slow and sometimes complicated manual process that most entrepreneurs would probably want to avoid.

Powerlikes, on the other hand, start appearing automatically on your post after you publish your content and don’t require anything from your personal or business account, which protects your privacy and the safety of your account.

They are, however, a paid service that is usually subscription-based, which means it’ll be an expense every month you get them. So you’ll have to evaluate if this is an investment that makes sense for your business. (Note: If you are getting Powerlikes for your business page, remember to put it down as a business expense!)

Powerlikes can also give you way more engagement than Telegram Pods possibly could without spending hours of your day and getting your account flagged for spam. Our own Powerlikes plans range from 100 to 2,000 daily likes and include twice as many views as likes. Our ‘PowerLikes PRO’ service includes 5X the amount of views as likes and you’ll also get many Saves, Shares & Profile Visits. The PowerLikes PRO service is what you want if your really serious about your Instagram and you want to maximise your chances of gaining more organic exposure and growth.

With any Powerlikes service, the users are high quality and only from USA and Europe. The service works automatically when you post and delivers in an optimized time so that it effectively imitates organic engagement.

Conclusion

Instagram engagement groups can be an exciting and free-of-charge way of getting a bit of extra engagement on your page. It can also create genuine connections between you and like-minded people.

If you’re looking for just a few extra likes and comments, Telegram’s groups can definitely do the trick, but beware of the downsides.

As Hootsuite testified from experience, Telegram Pods are “time consuming, don’t produce meaningful results, and the results it produces will look suspicious”, not to mention you might also have to like and comment on content that’s not relevant to your brand and Instagram’s algorithm will probably be “smart enough to figure out what you’re doing”.

For all those reasons, entrepreneurs, Influencers, and businesses should definitely use Powerlikes instead of Engagement Groups

Investing in Powerlikes will lead to better, more noticeable results. It will also allow you to keep the process private and your account spam-free.
